Wiindows Phone8 Gets another Update

It's been 3 years since windows phone arrived in the scene. Although it has become 3rd most popular OS it has been behind it's competitors by far. The reason behind why Nokia don't have phablet was Windows can't support Large screen and Quad-core processor till Date. The old phones will be eligible for a free update within few weeks or days.
This is the third update for Windows Phone 8 and it's a big one too. We already discussed about the
arrival of this update in the post NOKIA LUMIA 1520. Enough saying let's discuss the features of the update.

Driving Mode

The new Driving mode works with integrated Bluetooth headsets . When Your phone is connected to your car via Bluetooth the incoming calls, texts and other notifications will be muted automatically and a reply will be sent to everyone telling You are driving. There is a similar feature in IOS 7 but you have to turn on driving mode manually in IOS . Although it stops incoming calls , It still allows You to make outgoing calls.

Big Start screen

your start screen will have 3 rows of tiles from now , This is designed specially for 6 inch smartphones.

Better resolution

The phones are no longer running on less than 5 inch display . hence, arise the need to improve from 1280 to 768 pixel display.

Rotation Lock

Thank God we can now turn the rotation of The phone on and off so we can use our phone in bed from now. But Android had this function in there phones from Ice age.

Task Manager

A new view to multitask , When You hold the back button thumbnails of recent apps will be shown with a X on the corner so you can close them easily. Windows is getting more like android and IOS.

Text-Tone

Don't faint when i tell you this feature was due to the request of windows fans . Now You can assign individual tones to each person so you can identify who is texting you from the tone . I think this feature was first used in china phones in 2005.

Storage managment

When your phone runs out of memory you can use this to delete some files from your phones. You will get a warning when you are about to delete important/system files.

Verdict

Windows grows by 77.6 % per year now that they got support to good hardware like quadcore processor, large screen, new Bluetooth settings they can try and put up a fight against IOS for sure but the only department in which Windows is lagging is apps section ( you might want to check Windows Top games) . Hope they will improve the number of good quality apps.
